ADMIN QUICKSTART GUIDE

SETTING UP USER ROLES

There are 3 user roles in The Quad, Admins, Agents and Users.  Admins can change properties and settings as well as participate as an Agent in conversations.  Agents can participate in conversations and update settings at the conversation level.  Users can only participate in conversations.  All users who have access to the parent SharePoint site the app was added to will inherit the User role.

To update the Admin and Agent roles.  Click the menu in the upper left, open Roles & Permissions and add the SharePoint groups you wish to use for each role.

ADD YOUR BRAND

To change the brand that shows up in the header, click on the Menu in the upper left and open Display Options.  From here you can enter an absolute URL to an image file to use for your brand.  If you mess up and want the default back, just use /Content/Images/brand_default.png

CONNECTING TO YOUR SHAREPOINT KNOWLEDGE BASE

The Quad can be configured to provide a search of your SharePoint-based Knowledge Base.  This can be leveraged by your users as a way for them to find self-service information before they start a conversation.

To change the search settings, click on the Menu in the upper left and open Site & Storage Settings.  You will need to enter the URL of the SharePoint site that contains your Knowledge Base and provide Admin Consent to allow the Quad to execute searches against it.

ADDING CUSTOM CONVERSATION PROPERTIES

In addition to the default properties of Title, Body and Attachments, you can customize the properties that are editable by Users and/or Agents.

To modify the custom conversation properties, click on the Menu in the upper left and open Site & Storage Settings.  Click the Edit The Customer Properties List button to launch the list settings in a new window.  You can now add columns to this list that will then be editable as part of all conversations.  Once you are finished you can close that window, go back to The Quad and click Refresh List to load in your changes.  Any properties that you check on this page will be editable by the user when they first submit a conversation.  All unchecked properties are editable by Admins and Agents only.

POPULATING THE SOLUTION MAP

The Solution Map is a core component of The Quad where Agents can quickly build a blueprint of a solution using components from services the organization owns.  By default, the Solution Map will first populate itself with components from the Microsoft Cloud.


To initiate the Solution Map, click on the Menu in the upper left and open Solution Map Settings.  It may take 10-15 seconds to load for the first time while it's initializing.
